Last Saturday I had the pleasure of documenting Andy and Rachel’s wedding held at Taharaa Mountain Lodge in Estes Park, Colorado. They picked the perfect location of their destination mountain wedding.

The ceremony was held on a hillside area with about 70 family members and friends gathered around the wedding Pergola for their nuptials followed by a reception in the Great Hall and Deck at the lodge.

The theme for Andy and Rachel’s wedding was Mexico. Paying homage to Rachel heritage complete with a great Mexican dinner catered by A Spice of Life.

DJ, Jay Kacik, of Standing Room Only, kept the party on the dance floor all night before Andy and Rachel exited past guests blowing bubbles.

Scott and Amanda were married at the Maroon Bells Amphitheater near Aspen August 7, 2010.

My first stop was at Salon Tuillo where Amanda was having her hair and makeup done. Then it was on to the Jerome Hotel to meet up with Scott getting ready for their morning wedding. By 11AM everyone had arrived at the amphitheater.

Scott and Amanda had arranged not to see each other before their ceremony and it worked out perfectly. Scott caught his first glimpse of Amanda as her father walked her up the path before about 35 of their friends and family. Amanda’s dog, Tonka, a boxer made a great ring bearer.

It was a beautiful summer morning with a few clouds passing over the ceremony which was following by a luncheon reception at the Pine Creek Cookhouse one valley over in the upper Castle Creek Valley near the silver mining ghost town of Ashcroft. The Pine Creek Cookhouse is legendary in the Roaring Fork Valley as a rustic restaurant with great food.

After the reception Amanda and Scott wanted to go play around and take a few pictures at Ashcroft which still has about 7 buildings standing.

We finished the afternoon off back at the Jerome Hotel in Aspen with cocktails in the world famous J Bar.

Last week I had a really fun engagement session photographing Jordan and Katie at different locations in the Platte River Valley before driving out to Daniels Park in Highlands Ranch for sunset.

It was a really hot afternoon so we headed over to the Platte River where they waded into the cool water from a sandy beach. It was hard to believe we were in the city.

Next we went to one of my favorite ice cream vendors, Little Man Ice Cream a few blocks away.

After walking around the neighborhood and back along the river we drove south to Highlands Ranch where Katie grew up. Katie’s always loved Daniels Park where as a kid she remembered seeing buffaloes grazing the hills. I’d never been to this park which is one of the largest parks in the Denver Mountain Park systems. It’s has one of the best views of the front range I’ve ever seen. There were just enough clouds on the horizon to give us a beautiful sunset.

A couple of weeks ago I documented the Colorado-Eagle River Ride. Geri and friends Jim and Jodi were doing the century loop that included about 24 miles on a dirt road along the upper Colorado River. It was a blue sky mountain day without any threats of rain and it wasn’t even too hot.
