Mary and Scott’s Stanley Hotel Wedding

Stanley_Hotel

Mary Conboy and Scott Fillery were married September 19, 2011 at The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado.

We started their wedding off by Scott and me driving up into Rocky Mountain National Park to Horseshoe Park ahead of Mary as they chose to see each other all dressed up before their wedding and have a photo session in the park.

Scott is from Australia and Mary is from Connecticut. Broomfield, Colorado is now their home and they wanted to have a mountain destination wedding to show their families and friends what a beautiful state they live in.

Their ceremony was Stanlheld in front of the historic ey Hotel followed by a reception in the Music Room.

Jay Kacik of Standing Room Only DJ provided sound for the ceremony that was held in front of the Stanley Hotel. As well as sound and music in the Music Room for their reception.

Congratulations to Mary and Scott!

Mary and Nathan’s Wedding at Della Terra Mountain Chateau

Della_Terra_Wedding_5424

Mary Grabowski and Nathan were married at Della Terra Mountain Chateau in Estes Park, Colorado.

This was the first wedding I’ve photographed at Della Terra Mountain Chateau. I’d heard about their reputation for great service and I wasn’t disappointed by this family owned and operated venue just outside the north entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park.

It was a pleasure working with Pam and her staff who all go out of their way to give everyone a first class experience.

Congratulations to Mary and Nathan!

Cheers, Kent

Jen and John’s Wedding at The Stanley Hotel

Stanley_Hotel_Wedding_3847

Jen and John were married at The Stanley Hotel July 30, 2011.

I’d never met Jen and John until moments before they had a private reveal in the gazebo several hours before their wedding. They wanted to have time to drive up into Rocky Mountain National as they are both huge hikers and back packers and in fact they named each table at their reception in The MacGregor Ballroom after different National Parks where they’ve hiked.

One of the defining sequences of moments of the day started with a tap on my shoulder while I was kneeling in photograph flower girl Mahayl, niece of the groom. The ushers were rolling out a runner. I moved over and they continued as Mahayl walked up tossing flower petals and stepped though the runner pull cord without missing a beat and then join her mother where she paused to wiped her brow as Jen and her father were coming down the front steps. She was cool, comfortable and calm just like Jen and John.

Jen’s father Rev. David Stewart performed the ceremony which included everyone singing several hymns. He did a great job of moving around so he could sing with the family and friends who were seated in front of the historic hotel, then turn around and speak directly to the couple. It really was a beautifully orchestrated and personal ceremony.

Cheers, Kent

Meghan and Clay’s Birmingham Alabama Wedding

ClayMeghan_MG_2488

Meghan and Clay were married April 30, 2011 in Birmingham, Alabama at the Gabrella Manor, a private estate. You couldn’t have asked for a nicer day, especially considering that only three days before the wedding the worst storm in the states history ripped through the area with several tornadoes.

The smell of blooming Jasmine with little white star shaped flowers filled the air during the outdoor ceremony and reception. A special thanks goes out to Steve Johnson, one of the owners of the Gabrella Manor as well as a photographer with Lifedance Photography who showed me around the estate the day before at the rehearsal which helped me find some great angles to use during the ceremony.

Congratulation Meghan and Clay!

Cheers, Kent

Megan and Andrew’s Aspen Wedding

Megan Lund and Andrew Lizotte were married March 19, 2011 at Crossroads Church of Aspen followed by a reception at Hotel Jerome. Megan and Andrew hand picked every vendor for their wedding and then trusted each of us to do what we do best.

Both Megan and Andrew grew up in Basalt which is about 15 miles down the Roaring Fork Valley from Aspen. Andrew is a rocket scientist and Megan is a profession runner and running coach. Crossroads Church is not only their home church but Megan’s parents were also married there 29 years ago.

Pastor Dan Bosko performed their ceremony and couldn’t have been more helpful and gave me great access during the ceremony. I’ve worked with Dan before and have an established friendship and trust that allowed me to capture some intimate images during the ceremony. Thank you Dan!

Susan’s Flowers of Basalt did a great job with all the flowers.

Erin Williams of Lather Salon in Aspen did Megan’s hair.

Aleece Alexander of Midland Baking Company in Basalt made their metallic cake.

Brenden with DJ Echo Dafunk brought down the house with a top notch sound and light system.

Thank you Megan and Andrew for chosen me to photograph your wedding.

Cheers, Kent
