Christies of Genesee Wedding

Christies of Genesee WeddingSteve and Loann were married June 4, 2016 at a Christies of Genesee Wedding.

The groom, Steve, and I go way back. Steve was a business reporter for The Denver Post for 25 plus years including the 10 years I worked there. Not only did we work together but we also, enjoyed going on winter skis trips to 10th Mountain Division Huts with many of our friends from the paper.

Steve’s father was a member of the original 10th Mountain Division soldiers who trained on skis in the mountains of Colorado during World War II and went on to battle the Germans in the mountains of Italy. Many of these soldiers returned to Colorado after the war and helped  start the ski industry in Aspen and Vail.

Steve’s good friend Dave Christie, who is also a descendant of a 10th Mountain Division veteran, owned and operated Christies of Genesse  hosting weddings and other events. It’s classic venue with a mountain-scenic view overlooking Denver from the foothills. Dave retired last year and sold his business to Frank and Kerri Collier who coordinated Steve and Loann’s wedding and reception.

Their wedding revolved around their families, including Loann’s Vietnamese parents and many relatives along with Steve’s family and many close knit groups of friends.

Thank you Steve and Loann for choosing me to document your beautiful celebration.
