Last weekend we went hiking, camping and climbing near the town of Ouray, Colorado, one of the coolest mountain towns in the state. Geri and I joined our friends, Margie and Paul, for the adventure of climbing Mount Sneffels, 14,150 feet elevation. We had a killer campsite near a stream with a nice fire pit. Paul and Marge towed their pop-up camper that they’ve nicknamed the “Taj Mahal”.
It was a short, but tough climb and it wasn’t any easier coming down. The rocks were loose and the gravel was slick. Near the top there is a tricky notch with some exposure that made this a class 2+ climb.
