Washington Park Denver WeddingWashington Park Denver wedding of Lara and Brian, September 3, 2016.

The small wedding ceremony was held in Mount Vernon Gardens in Washington Park followed by a reception at Barolo Grill.

Wedding officiant, Jen Nealon Garone, of Small Circles Ceremonies, customized Lara and Brian’s wedding ceremony making it personal, fun, and funny!

Brian, who is Scottish, choose not to wear his kilt, but his brother and nephew (also the ring bearer), retained the family tradition.

Thank you Lara and Brian for choosing me to photograph your Washington Park Denver wedding.

Cheers, Kent Meireis

Stephanie and Vivek embraced their Jewish and Indian cultures with their multicultural Denver, Colorado wedding.

Vivek who was born in India lead a Baraat, which is a groom’s wedding procession on a customary white horse.  Family members and friends sang and danced to the beat of a drum as they walked up to the front of the Highlands Ranch Mansion where both families joined in the dance party.

The Baraat was followed by a ketubah signing ceremony of their Jewish marriage license, before the actual wedding ceremony performed by Rabbi “Mo” Adam Morris on the front lawn of the mansion, that included a beautiful chuppah draped with white flowers.

One of the many highlights of their ballroom reception was the Hora, a chair dance in which the bride and groom, seated in chairs are lifted into the air while being pumped up and down and all around.  The Denver wedding band Soul X  played a traditional Jewish folk song for the Hora and kept the room hopping all night.

Guest photographers Anne and Bill Holland were a big help covering Stephanie and Vivek’s wedding and reception from many different angles.

Florist, Lilli Black of Bella Calla decorated the chuppah and designed Stephanie’s bouquet, as well as adorning the reception tables with beautiful floral arrangements.

Wedding planner, Julie Gambrell, owner of Classic Creations went above and beyond making sure their wedding flowed perfectly.

Wedding videographer, Lawrence Alexander was a pleasure to work alongside.

A big thank you goes to Stephanie and Vivek for trusting me to document their truly amazing wedding from start to finish.

Congratulations, Kent

Sonja and Luis held their wedding ceremony and reception at the Briarhurst Manor

August 11, 2016.

Sonja, a former reporter for The Press-Enterprise in Riverside California, chose me to document her wedding day because of my wedding photojournalism background. She was also kind enough to seat me with a group of her journalist friends for dinner during their reception.

Cheers, Kent

Old Thompson Barn WeddingOld Thompson Barn Wedding in Carbondale, Colorado.

Darbi and Chase were married at the Old Thompson Barn at River Valley Ranch July 16, 2016.

Darbi grew up in the Roaring Fork Valley between Carbondale and Aspen. Chase grew up in the Denver metro area where the couple now live. They are both sports oriented. Darbi played softball and Chase was a hockey player and now referees. Their wedding ceremony included a puck drop with the bride and groom scrumming with hockey sticks. Darbi and her father played a game of catch with a softball to start their father daughter dance.

They picked the perfect location for their wedding and reception with the twin peaks of Mt. Sopris standing in the background.

The most touching point of their wedding day came when Darbi read her pledge to Chase’s young daughter, Lucie, during their ceremony.

Special thanks go to Amy Rollins, of Susan’s Flower’s in Carbondale. A few years ago, I photographed Amy’s wedding also in the shadows of Mt. Sopris. She and Darbi grew up together and Amy designed all of the flowers for this wedding and referred my services to Darbi.

Also, my good friend Sean Cayton joined me as a guest photographer.

Thank you Darbi and Chase for choosing me to document your heartfelt wedding.

Cheers, Kent
