Monthly Archives: February 2013

Recently I volunteered to photograph children with cancer at Children’s Hospital Colorado. It had been more than a year since the program Flashes of Hope was able to do portraits of children and their families because of the concern for spreading colds, flu and other illnesses. Geri and I photographed 13 kids, ages 9 months to 10 years old. Many of the photos needed to be made while the kids were isolated in their hospital rooms.

This was the fourth time I’ve photographed for the Flashes of Hope program, and it’s always a humbling feeling to look deeply into each of these kids’ eyes and do my best to draw out their personalities.

Cheers, Kent

The 22nd Annual Mountaintop Matrimony was held February 14, 2013 in honor of Valentines Day at Ski Loveland. It might have been the coldest ceremony in the history of this event as the snow and wind were howling as 88 couples were either married for the first time or renewed their wedding vows on the deck of Ptarmagin Roost Cabin, elevation 12.050 feet!
