Last week in the early morning hours of May 1, more than 100 gay and lesbian couples joined in civil union ceremonies in the Wellington Webb Municipal Building in downtown Denver.
The first couple joined together was Fran Simon and Anna Sher. This was the first time I’ve witnessed two brides in white wedding gowns become united. Denver Mayor Michael Hancock performed their ceremony in front of their son Jeremy, friends and hundreds of members of the press.
It was interesting to document this civic event for fun and history.
Cheers to all the happy couples!
