Alex and Zach’s Black Tie Downtown Denver Wedding August 22, 2015 was held at The Studio Loft above the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in the Denver Performing Arts Complex. The party started at the Four Seasons Denver where Alex was hanging out with family and her wedding party as one of her bridesmaids popped a […]
Megan and Chad were married on the Vail Wedding Deck June 26, 2015, by Rabbi Baskin in a classic Jewish wedding ceremony, which included a chuppah with support posts made from Aspen trees, and beautiful flower arrangements from Vintage Magnolia. The couple met in the singles line of the Born Free Express Lift while skiing at Vail.
Kona, their dog, played a big part in the wedding ceremony. She was so well-behaved that she didn’t need to be on a leash at the hotel, in Vail Village, on the lift, or at the top of the mountain. Everyone at the Arrabelle where Megan prepared for the wedding, and also where the Ketubah signing took place, loved having Kona in residence.
After their mountaintop ceremony, the happy couple took a pedicab ride to the Donovan Pavilion for the reception. The dancing started after a wonderful dinner catered by The Gourmet Cowboy. First the couple danced, followed by dancing with parents, then came the Horah, a traditional Jewish wedding dance where two people seated in chairs, are hoisted into the air by the wedding guests. It began with Megan and Chad, followed by each set of parents and then grandparents. Later Megan performed a Polish bridal dance where she donned a head scarf and danced with almost everyone at the wedding – one at a time.
My good friend Bill Holland, joined me as guest photographer and contributed some great images.
Sarah Biggs with The Gourmet Cowboy helped them plan and pull off their wedding in great style.
Courtney Mirablie with Vail Resorts did a good job of getting everyone up and down the mountain including Kona without a single hitch.
Mindy McNitt with the Donovan Pavilion kept everything together during their reception.
Thank you Megan & Chad for allowing me to photograph your wedding, and please let me know if you ever need a dog sitter for Kona.
Malia and Bryson were married June 20, 2015, at Wynkoop Brewing Company in downtown Denver, Colorado.
It was planned to be an engagement party, but became a surprise wedding ceremony followed with a reception. A few family members and friends were in on the plan and it played out perfectly in jaw-dropping fashion.
Malia slipped off and put on a simple, little white dress about an hour into the party, while Bryson rolled out an aisle runner. They had a cute little boy and girl enter as flower children, before Malia and her father walked in confirming what the guests were beginning to figure out.
They had a fun ceremony and brew-tinged vows, that were highlighted by sipping a beer from the same glass. Malia and Bryson are both beer enthusiasts which is why they picked Wynkoop Brewing Co. for their wedding location.
For their wedding portraits, we crossed the street to Union Station which has been recently renovated into not only the transportation hub of Denver, but also a landmark with great bars, restaurants, a bookstore, a hotel and much more.
Bryson proposed to Malia last year while snowboarding, so we did their engagement photo session at one of their favorite mountains – Keystone.
Thank you both so much for choosing me to photograph both your engagement and surprise wedding!
A special thanks to Geri and Bill Holland for helping me document the day.
