Laura and Jake were married at the Maroon Bells Amphitheater June 17, 2015 followed by a reception at Hallam Lake at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies.
Destination weddings at the Maroon Bells near Aspen, Colorado, have a unique thing in common, crazy fun stuff that I couldn’t predict, just happens. It’s truly a special place and the people who decide to get married there are mountain loving adventurers.
Laura and Jake fell down laughing in the meadow below the amphitheater where their ceremony was held and almost fell in the water while wading in Maroon Lake. I actually fell down later while photographing Jake kissing the roasted pig, that was served for dinner, when the table collapsed.
Geri and I had a blast trying to keep up with these two at one of our favorite Colorado mountain wedding locations. I had been to Hallam Lake a few times over the years making pictures for the Glenwood Post and the Denver Post. It’s really cool and laid back place for a wedding reception including a fire pit for guests to sit around listening to music and dance.
Watching Laura and her father dance became a little picture story as her mother was recording a video using her iphone documenting their entire dance though teary eyes.
Thank you Laura & Jake for choosing me to photograph your wedding!
Congratulations, Kent & Geri
