Lyle Lovett at Colorado Academy

Last Saturday I was lucky enough to photograph Lyle Lovett playing a benefit concert at Colorado Academy in Denver. I’ve seen Lyle at least ten times over many years and met him a couple of times. He is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met.

My favorite song and story of the evening was when Lyle told how he and his cello player John Hagen took to the stage at Red Rocks the day that Jerry Garcia died and they played A Friend of the Devil.

Cheers, Kent

    beautiful photos of Lovett
You interested in selling any copies of those?

He is without a doubt my favorite singer. Inspired me to take guitar lessons. I understand now how talented he is; effortless playing; songs are like stories. never grow tired of them.
LA County–bouncy upbeat tune about a murder of a bride and groom on their wedding day by the ex-boyfriend?!?! masterful.
Extremely jealous of you that you have spoken to him. Have seen him about 12 times–but never the pleasure of shaking his hand.

This is a great set of images of Lyle. Well done. I really like the use of available light. Well done! Richard.
